ABANDONED WORSHIP

by Donna Milham

—Abandon ; to yield oneself completely – unbounded expression

— It is NOT an outward display of frenzied mello-dramatic expressions.

— It is an INWARD expression made open and outward.

— It originates from and is totally dependent on the heart/spirit man.

— It can involve complex sophisticated movement as well as something as simple as standing in place.

— ABANDONED WORSHIP is an unmeasured, uncalculated, unconditional expression from the heart directed to and/or expressing your passion for the Lord. You are saying, “I love you for who you are. I can not contain it. What more can I do for you.”

—How does one become an abandoned dance worshipper?
–do we go to abandonment dance technique classes?

— There are two pillars upon which abandonment rests.

INTIMACY  &  REVELATION

—Intimacy and revelation are both separate and interrelated

—Intimacy – where you and God become lovers – with every intimate encounter He leaves an imprint of Himself on your soul – worship- prayer – read His word – etc…

—Revelation – can occur within an intimate or public setting – it is Him revealing more of His Divine nature to you – goes beyond the warm and fuzzy feelings into KNOWING Him

—It is out of this relationship as lovers and knowing in your spirit man how incomprehensibly awesome He is that your heart expresses itself. It can not be contained.

—The math is simple…
1 – You cannot love someone you do not know
2 – You get to know someone by pursuing them and spending time with them
3 – The more you pursue and spend time with someone, the more you know them.
4 – This is a guaranteed fact. The more time you spend with God, the more He reveals Himself to you, the more you will know and love Him

— This is primarily how you grow in and prepare for abandoned expression.

— Scripture reference…The Sinful Woman… Luke 7: 37-38,50

37 And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil,38 and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil
NKJV

Luke 7:50
Then He said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”
NKJV

— If you do not pursue this type of relationship with the Lord and just show up for and event/assignment, your ability to express yourself abandoned will be severely limited.
