Be Certain of This One Thing

by Karen Elliott

As we forge ahead into our future, we are becoming more and more aware that things are no longer as they used to be.  Change is upon us.  While change is a natural part of life, it doesn’t always tend to be too extremely life altering, and that makes it easier for us to deal with because we are still surrounded with things that are familiar. But then, there is the kind of change, or ‘shift’ that comes into our lives that takes us out of the familiar, out of our zone of comfort, and brings us into unknown territory.  For many, this type of change can be a very difficult and scary thing, leaving the familiar and forging out into the unknown.  It can also be a time of great adventure.  As children of God, we can be certain of this, ‘God, who began the good work within you and me, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.’  Phil 1:6

I believe the changes that many of us are now going through will be life altering in many ways because God is bringing us a way that we haven’t been before.  But there is no need to fear because He is the One who is leading us along unfamiliar paths, He lights the way and He’ll not leave us alone, that’s His promise.  “I will lead the blind in ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths, I will guide them.  I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth.  These are the things I will do.  I will not forsake them.“  Is. 42:16

God is bringing us into a greater place of dependency on Him, where we can’t pull out our reserves from the bag of familiar and lean on our own understanding. We will be tested in what it is we really believe, the Word of God, or what our current circumstances dictate.  Will we believe only what we see with our natural eyes or will we ‘call those things that are not, as though they were’, ‘calling into existence the things that do not exist?’ Ro.4:17

Of course, we will always have the choice whether to forge ahead or stay in the comfortable place of familiar.  We have the choice to give up because we’ve believed and we’ve trusted before and have not seen the healings and miracles we have believed for. We haven’t seen the change in our circumstances.  I tell you, don’t give up, don’t look back, but keep your eyes on the Standard and move forward!  Change is upon us, we are shifting into a new season that will cause the way we ‘think’ to gain a whole new perspective. We will walk, talk and act differently… like true Sons and Daughters of the Kingdom of God!

Be certain of this one thing:  The One Who called you is faithful and He will never leave you or forsake you!  He will complete the work He has begun in you. He will bring you through this time of transition and you will gain a new strength, resolve, purpose, and strong sense of direction!  Onward and upward for the King and His Kingdom!
