Peace in War

By Lupe King

I have chosen to call this art piece, “Peace in War.”  This art piece comes from a vision I had at one of our Saturday night gatherings during praise and worship.

Here is the message that came with it via the Holy Spirit:

There is much fear in the world today, yes there are wars and rumors of war but outside of these fears, there are day-to-day fears.  This day and age there is much fear about provision; keeping jobs and losing them.  There are the everyday fears having to deal with stress and anxiety about families, church and friends, the condition of the world, etc, etc.

I felt the Lord literally “grab” a hold of me through this vision and I clearly heard Him say, “Paint this vision.”  And so to the best of my ability in Him here is the interpretation of this vision.

The background painted in camouflage is symbolic of the warfare that surrounds us through all the above mentioned.  In the midst of this background within a circle of Holy fire “rests” the Dove symbolic of The Holy Spirit.  I was instructed by Him to paint it blue because of the revelation of peace that comes through knowing Him.  The olive branch stands for life, growth, healing, and the landing strip of His Presence.  The dove has a brightness surrounding it as seen through the bright yellow aura, symbolic of His gift of peace and hope that resides in God alone.  There are multi-colors of red and purple waves symbolic of the waves of His Spirit which are in constant movement.  The color red stands for His blood that bought us redemption, purple is His Holy authority.  The circle of orange and red colors stand for the perseverance and endurance in Him that is needed in order to remain calm within His Holy Fire.  The circle of course is His covenant love.

Along with the vision these are the scriptures I received:

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.  Not as the world gives do I give to you.  Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid (John 14:27).

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace.  In the world you shall have tribulation.  But take heart I have overcome the world (John 16:33).
